In Sabzi Mandi, a mob consisting of thousands of people, carrying deadly arms shouted ‘In Sardaron Ne Indira Gandhi Ko Marra Hai (These Sikhs have killed Indira Gandhi)” and “Hum In Sardaron Ko Nahin Chorenge (We won’t spare the Sikhs)”. The mob consisted of thousands of people who were carrying deadly arms on their person. They arrived at the colony and began their killing spree. The following nine Sikhs were killed one by one, house by house at Kabir Basti, Malka Ganj Road, Sabzi Mandi:
Bhagat Singh, Jaswant Singh, Balbir Singh, Mangal Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Santokh Singh, Darshan Singh, Jagga Singh, Surinder Singh. They were all burnt on the main road.1
