On November 1, while hiding on the rooftop of a house, Ishwari Singh witnessed the killings in the nearby house of Prem Singh. All five members of the family were beaten to death; Prem Singh himself, his father, his son, his grandson, the wife of his nephew, and another Sikh who had taken shelter in the house were also killed. On November 3rd, the head priest of Gurdwara Jheel was burnt alive.1
